It’s Christmas, Are You Ready?
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
And the angel came in unto her, and said Hail, thou art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou had found favor with God.
And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be seeing I know not a man?
And the angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:26-35).
This is the conversation that ensued between the angel Gabriel and Mary, who was the chosen vessel of God to bring forth God’s holy Son, Jesus Christ.
It’s Christmas time again and all around the world everyone is preparing for another celebration this year 2020, despite the global pandemic and all that has happened so far.
But have we-truly taken a moment to sit and reflect about the sudden changes that have taken place in our lives and in the world in general?
Do we really and truly understand that the happenings so far have come about as a result of a divine plan and design from an eternal agenda which must be fulfilled and must come to pass to end all things now, and which will eventually usher in the everlasting new?
God in His infinite mercies sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ to be born of a virgin. And when he became of age after spending 33 years walking on the earth doing good to all men, he laid down his life by going to the cross to die for our sins. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16).
Jesus is calling out to you today. He loves you and wants you to believe in Him: that He died on that cross to pay the penalties for your sins. He also wants you to believe that after being buried, on the third day, he rose from the dead and after a while he ascended back into heaven and he is currently seated at the right hand of God.
And now the best part of all of this is that, it’s been two thousand and twenty years ago since all this happened, and He is actually expected back any moment from now.
The question is: will you be ready when he returns suddenly? The Christmas celebration of the birth of Jesus is slowly fading away and quickly coming to an abrupt end! If you are still caught up in the euphoria of these celebrations, there’s nothing wrong with it.
But please ensure that you are ready when the trumpet shall sound. This signifies the rapture of the Church, when we, Christians who have believed in his death and resurrection, will be quickly changed and we shall be caught to meet Jesus and we shall forever be with him.
When you take a look around you, the world and it’s systems are slowly fading away and the god of this world is gradually taking over systems and structures which will eventually usher in The Great Tribulation.
Believe me, you don’t want to be left behind to experience this era in the history of the last days of this present world. When the church leaves the earth, the hour of Grace also comes to an end. And so if you want to get saved at that point, you will have to work it out by yourself. And I can assure you, it won’t be a pleasant experience.
As a Christian, serving the Lord now for almost 26 years, I have been through a lot, and I choose to call it my own personal tribulation. But it’s been worth every challenge I have faced, every tear I have cried and every persecution I have had to go through. Do you know why?
Because I have the Holy Spirit, who comforts me, guides and counsels me at every given point in time. I can’t just imagine being left behind without the Holy Spirit and the grace of God to help as a Christian!
But sorry, this will be the reality and scenario of every Christian who will be left behind and everyone who rejected Jesus because they didn’t believe in His love, death and resurrection.
And so, if you will like to give your heart to Jesus and be ready and waiting when he eventually returns, you can say this prayer:
O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He’s alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, I have eternal life; I am born again. Thank you Lord, for saving my soul! I am now a child of God. Hallelujah!
