Believe And Be Saved...

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him”. In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again”.
“How can a man be born again when he is old?” Nicodemus asked.

“Surely, he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”
Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of the water and the Spirit, flesh gives birth to flesh, but spirit gives birth to the spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, “You must be born again”. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the   Spirit”. (John 3:1-8).

This was the conversation that ensued between our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Nicodemus, a teacher of the law in Israel. Nicodemus in his bid to understand the meaning of what Jesus was saying further enquired how this second birth was possible. Jesus tried to explain the mystery of the second birth in a language he could understand and said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”.

This same message still holds true for everyone on the face of this planet today. If you believe in the  son of God, Jesus Christ, you will not be condemned. Romans 10:9-10 puts it this way: That if you  confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Anyone who is seeking solutions for his or her problems, first of all needs to address the issue of salvation. And the only route to salvation from eternal death and condemnation is by simply believing in the Lord Jesus and confessing that He is Lord over your life and the new birth takes place in you.

In Acts 4:12, when Peter the apostle spoke before the Sanhedrin, he said, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved”. There is nothing or no one on the face of this earth that can save you, only the name of Jesus and your belief in Him.

So what are you waiting for?  TIME IS RUNNING OUT!!! Accept Jesus into your heart today before it’s too late!

THE CONCEPT AND TRAGEDY OF SELF

 Self is having a strong desire, feeling and concern towards, or for yourself. In other words, it is a high level of engrossment of oneself in terms of well being in every aspect of life.
